I Cry Aloud To You (I Don't Know What I'd Do)

She cries the tears that no one sees
She prays to God for some release
From the life that wears her down

He just can’t take another step
He hopes God will pull him from the depth
Of the shame he’s fallen into

I cry aloud to You
Lord I lift my sins to You
I ask for mercy, Lord
For the things that I have done
I cry aloud to You
Lord, You are my refuge
If it weren’t for You
Lord I don’t know what I’d do

When my spirit grows faint within me
It is You who watch over my way
In the path of danger where I walk

When nobody even cares for me
When they have left me and chosen to flee
I look and find You

I cry aloud to You
Lord I lift my sins to You
I ask for mercy, Lord
For the things that I have done
I cry aloud to You
Lord, You are my refuge
If it weren’t for You
Lord I don’t know what I’d do

Lord, listen to my cry
For I am desperately in need
Rescue me
From my enemies
The fear and anger and sadness
Are quickly closing in
They make a prison around me
So set me free, Lord, set me free
That I might praise Your name!

I cry aloud to You
Lord I lift my sins to You
I ask for mercy, Lord
For the things that I have done
I cry aloud to You
Lord, You are my refuge
If it weren’t for You
Lord I don’t know what I’d do

based on Psalm 142
