Tearful Prayer

She lies in bed another night
Hands clasped and shaking
The tears just keep pouring out
But, oh, she doesn’t make a sound, no

Cuz it’s a tearful prayer
As she cries herself to sleep again
It’s a tearful prayer
As she begs for God to grant her strength
To make it through this life
Where no one knows
That it’s a tearful prayer

She sits in the car with her friend
Tears streaming down her face
It hurts even more, cuz no one asks what’s wrong
But, oh, she doesn’t make a sound, no

Cuz it’s a tearful prayer
As she cries herself to sleep again
It’s a tearful prayer
As she begs for God to grant her strength
To make it through this life
Where no one knows
That it’s a tearful prayer

The only one that listens and knows her pain
Is Him, oh Lord.
So when she feels like she can’t go on
She cries out to Him and He gives her strength
Because He knows

That it’s a tearful prayer
As she cries herself to sleep again
It’s a tearful prayer
As she begs for God to grant her strength
To make it through this life
Where no one knows
That it’s a tearful prayer
A tearful prayer
Oh
A tearful
Prayer
