Sad Eyes

She’s the girl with the ponytail
Laughing, just like everyone else
At first glance, no could be happier
But look again

She’s got sad eyes
Holdin back the pain
To shelter all her friends from what she knows

Though the others don’t know
To me its clear cuz
She’s got sad eyes

There is a smile upon her face
Glued on, like a permanent mask
She thinks she’s covered all of her tracks
But look again

I asked her what was wrong
She smiled and said, “nothing”
